Deborah Lippmann Glitter in the Air

Hey guys! This is my nail of the day, a la Chloe's Nails. I didn't know what to layer Glitter in the Air over, so I just did what she did - put on a layer of Sally Hansen Blue-Away and a couple coats of Glitter in the Air on top :) I love this combo! I've never really liked any of Deborah Lippmann's glitters, but this one I love! On its own it is a sheer, pale blue with pink and darker blue fine glitter and hexagonal glitter. Pretty!

On a separate note, I got my light box today! Now there won't be weird discrepancies between pictures, and my hands won't look as red (hopefully). I'm still tweaking with it to see which is the most flattering and makes the colors truest to life, but I think the quality of my pictures will improve a lot. Let me know what you think of the new lighting in the comments!

My Private Jet!

Hey guys! I found this today at a dusty. I almost screamed when I saw it! I've been wanting the original holographic version of My Private Jet ever since I started getting into polish. I go to a salon to get a facial every few months (thanks acne) and every time I go I see My Private Jet staring at me... enticing me. But I can't buy it because they don't sell their polish :( Thank god I found this one, because I promised myself the next time I went to get a facial I would start begging!
Ps - I took a lot of pictures. Couldn't choose out of these. Sorry for the overload! :)

Bottle shot!

This was 3 coats in direct sunlight. Love it!

Sinful Colors Nirvana

Hey everyone! This is Sinful Colors Nirvana. I picked it up because of the 99 cent sale at Walgreens - all Sinful Colors polishes are 99 cents! I thought it looked really pretty in the bottle, but in person it looked gross... in pictures I think it looks fine though. In person it reminds me of the color of smelly mud you find at the bottom of a lake :/ gross! This was two coats.

Essie Muchi, Muchi

Hey guys, hope your morning is going well! Yesterday I wore Essie Muchi, Muchi. Usually I don't like to wear creme pinks because I think they are boring, but I had an interview and I wanted to be a bit conservative. I'm glad I tried this, because I love it! This polish was a pain to apply but I think that it's worth it. This was 4 coats.

By the way, I'm getting/making a light box for myself over the weekend, so hopefully the weird lighting issues will be solved soon and my hands won't be as red! Yay! :) Till next time!

Zoya Valerie and Essence Choose Me!

Hey guys! The weather is still pretty bad in my part of the world, bleh. On Friday and Saturday it was SO nice and sunny, I'm so sad that's gone! It's supposed to be raining all week. I ordered the new Zoya polishes because of their new polish exchange promotion (All polishes are $4 instead of 8!) but I couldn't wait to put on a glass-flecked polish. I was trying to choose between Zoya Valerie and Essence Choose Me! (AKA Zoya Charla and Opi Catch Me In Your Net) and I swatched both on the same finger, saw the mix of the two and was stunned! I decided to do a full mani with it, that's how much I loved it!

Till next time! Hope you liked it :)

Hey guys! I have an announcement! I've got a pretty awesome giveaway planned when I reach 50 followers. I'll announce the polishes when we reach that landmark (which will hopefully be soon!).

I'll post my NOTD as planned tomorrow mornin'. Sorry for a post without polish... I'm just so excited!

Essie Lapis of Luxury and Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure

Hey guys! Here is my Easter mani (late I know, sorry!). This is two coats of Essie Lapis of Luxury with one coat of SH Hidden Treasure. I love the different colors, but I think I don't like flakies in general... I know, strange! I think it's mainly the pain of getting it off :)

The sun was out today (briefly) so I got to take some sunlight pictures for you guys!

This is a shade picture. Look at the green and red!

OPI DS Signature

Hey guys! Sorry for the late post. I'm still trying to figure out how to do timed posts :(

This is OPI DS Signature. I love this polish. It's grandma-y, but the holo makes it awesome! The pictures definitely speak for themselves.

Bottle picture!

And here are swatches.

Till next time!

GOSH Holographic

Hey guys! I received this a couple days ago in a swap from Erika from www.chloesnails.blogspot.com. To be honest, I thought I would like it a lot more than I do. It gave me really bad "lobster hands" (my hands looked redder than usual when wearing it) and it kept dragging when I was applying it, PLUS I couldn't wear any top coat with it because it would dull the holo. You can judge for yourself if you think it is worth it or not, but I honestly don't think it's worth the trouble! This was 3 coats on top of a matte base (holos work the best over a matte base).

A closeup on my thumb so you can see the crazy holo:

OPI Concord Grape

Hey, sorry for the absence of a blog post yesterday. School comes before polish and blogging so I had to take a day's break to study. If I leave for a couple days unannounced, just assume that it's because of school :)

Here's OPI Concord Grape. I loved the application on this - the polish was super thin (just the way I like it!) but also opaque. This is two coats in artificial light. The polish looks almost black in person, but if the light hits it the right way you can see the dark purple base and blue sparkles!

Chalk Manicure

Hey guys! I got this idea a couple weeks ago. I think it's super, super cool. First I started out with a matte black. I used Sephora by OPI What's a Tire, Jack? and even though it was matte I added Essie Matte About You on top, which is a mattifying top coat.

Then, I got crazy and started drawing on it with chalk. I think this is so cool!

The best part is you can wipe it off and draw on it all over again! :)

Hope you enjoyed!

Essie Demure Vixen w/Konad

Hey guys! I thought I took pictures of Essie Demure Vixen alone, but I guess I didn't - whoops! Sorry about that. I could only find pictures of it with the Konad I did afterwards on top. I used the M71 plate for this and Special Konad Polish in Black.

Angel Dusting - Franken

Hey guys! Second time updating today! This is one of the most recent frankens I made. If you don't know what a franken is, it's different polishes poured together to make one shade. You can also add glitter and pigments to a franken - anything to make it look better! I've made a couple but I like this one the best so far. I named it "Angel Dusting" (Not Angel Dust!), which is a marketing term used for putting miniscule amounts of an ingredient into a product and claiming it will help the user (blah, blah, blah - I know!).

Here are some swatches. It's more holo in real life, but I still like it a lot!

Here it is with OPI DS Shimmer over it:

Rimmel Steel Grey and Konad!

Hey guys! I just hauled most of the polishes I was lemming yesterday that I could find. I now have probably like 50 untrieds... whoops! One of the polishes I bought was Rimmel Steel Grey. I'll swatch the rest later. I forgot how much I like greiges!

Then I added holographic leopard spots with my Konad M57 plate and China Glaze OMG. I usually don't like leopard spots because I think they look tacky, but I love this combination. It's subtle which I like!

Update: here are some pictures where you can see the holo more clearly!

OPI DS Extravagance

Hey everyone! I'm so excited - I usually can't have long nails because of Violin, and I'm taking a break for three weeks while my violin teacher is in England (She's playing for Kate and William!) so I can grow my nails out to my heart's content :) I'm thinking of caving in and just buying stick-on nails, just to see how long nails would look on me!

This is the most recent picture of my nails I have taken and is my current manicure. This is OPI DS Extravagance, one of my favorite polishes. This is two coats. I love how thin it is on my nails and how well it goes with my skin tone! Application was amazing too.

'Till next time!
